5k turkey day run

November 23, 2007 at 5:26 am | In uncategorized | Leave a Comment

we did it! it was such a great way (i think) to start our thanksgiving day. it was fun being in an environment where kids and grandpas all run or walk together for such a great cause.

i found myself tearing up a few times while i was running. the streets were packed with people cheering you on, and handing out water. one house even had two pajama clad kids yelling “happy thanksgiving!” on their front lawn. it was such a great experience.

jasen has posted pics from the day on our blog: amandaandjasen.wordpress.com. go check them out.i want to thank chris for being the only person who reads my blog. i appreciate the tip. i didn’t take your advice…but i appreciate it nonetheless.

so after checking the stats page…here is where i ranked:5k.jpg

i ranked 14th in my age bracket (24-29), and 149th overall! pretty sweet!

here’s what my nike+ had to say:

my personal quote on the matter…”i should not be seeing Christmas decor and such in october! i refuse to buy it!”

gobble gobble rob bell.

November 14, 2007 at 4:42 am | In uncategorized | 1 Comment

we saw rob bell last night for the gods aren’t angry tour.some things i thought about the night: #1 it was in san fran. love it. #2 we got some sweet hang time with good people. #3 it was awesome that jasen didn’t have to drive in the late night. #4 my butt was super uncomfortable…but rob passed the time well. #5 rob said some really interesting things that i wished more people could have heard. #6 it didn’t matter how long we stayed out because i took today off.

now on to gobbling…do you have a place to go for thanksgiving? if you don’t let us know. we would love to have you. our somewhat full house is not somewhat so full. we have room…come on over! seriously…if you have no place to go…we want you here.

so i have to send out apologizes for my last post. somehow it made jasen sweat more than usual. i am not ready for babies. i just like things that are miniature. who knew it would cause so much controversy.

jasen and i made a very adult purchase this weekend. we got a buffet from crate and barrel. doesn’t that sound grown up?

no office

November 10, 2007 at 9:56 pm | In uncategorized | Leave a Comment

what can it all mean?

I just read, “NBC has just fired all the production people on their hit show The Office. While the writers rightfully demand an equal share of the pie, 102 people are now out of work on The Office.

People that don’t make as much money as the writers. And when the networks air repeats because of this strike, the writers will get paid residuals.”

No such luck for the out of work crew.check out more information “>here.

where is the time going?

November 7, 2007 at 6:18 am | In uncategorized | 1 Comment

wow it’s almost wednesday. and almost thanksgiving. wow.

a few things i love about my life right now:

1.  report cards and parent teacher conferences just happened and i sat back and waved.

2.  matt and allie live a hop, skip and a jump away. HOORAY!

3.  we just had dinner with our pastor jake and vanessa…and they like hanging out with       us.

4.  san fran is a couple hours away. have you been there? wow it’s awesome.

5. i am going on a field trip to the raptor center this week. do you know anything about raptors?

6. monday is a holiday from school.

7. saturday is “second saturday” in downtown.

8. a teacher friend from houston called me tonight to tell me she missed me. it’s nice to be missed.

now things i don’t really like about my life right now and i’m ready to change:

1. my bet with allie about who will lose more weight before christmas. i am losing and i hate it.

2. i can’t get to bed before 11.

3.  i’ve been too busy to work out.

4. there are first graders who type at a faster wpm than i do. argh… what is this home row business?

well there is more deposits than withdrawals in my life account…so all in all…life is good!
