i heart people who read my blog and my iphone

February 29, 2008 at 11:01 am | In my hearts | 2 Comments

it’s leap day…i can heart two things if i want to.you few 10 people who stuck with me through all the 29 ( i mean 30) of my hearts…i thank you. i thank you for commenting and let me know you read it… and that you are with me.

it is nice to know a select few read it. it makes me want to post more…. and keep up the comments. it makes me think you are out there. whoever you are.

and my hearts wouldn’t be complete without…

the iphone i received for christmas. in small and big ways it has changed my life. i really can’t imagine having any other phone for the rest of my life.

big statement i know.

well, there you have it! i made it through the whole month of february. some hearts felt a little contrived and forced…but everyday was accounted for. and i am sure proud of myself. i hoped you enjoyed it!

i heart boudin

February 28, 2008 at 9:32 am | In my hearts | Leave a Comment

have you heard of boudin? if you haven’t…it is this yummy bakery that sells soups and sandwiches. i believe it started in san francisco and i think their speciality is clam chowder in a bread bowl. on thursday the soup of the day is broccoli cheddar. yum. add a bread bowl. double yum.

but go early because i showed up a little after 7:45 pm and they had run out of broccoli cheddar! i would expect that from panera…but not you boudin.

however…i don’t think this will stop me from eating there. it is just too fabulous.

i may even name a kid or dog boudin. then when people hear the name…they will think “yum. that sure sounds good.”

i heart kid conversations

February 27, 2008 at 7:01 am | In my hearts | 2 Comments

i have become very good at eve’s dropping. and kid conversation’s are the best. bill cosby was right…kids do say funny things.

there is a warning for the following conversation… i decided to write it up without leaving anything out. this is an actual conversation and this (6 year old) kid was not being facetious in anyway. he was completely serious in what he was saying. you parents out there really need to know what your children are saying to their teachers. here is a great example:

me: wow…you are really doing a great job playing foursquare. have you been practicing?
kid: yes. i drew a court in my driveway and i have been practicing at home.
me: that’s great! i can tell! you are hitting the ball so well.
kid: i know. i also sometimes hit it with my head, or my foot…or i punch it.
me: things sure have changed since i have played. we only hit it.
kid: yeah. you can hit into someone’s square anyway you want. you just can’t hit it with the
soft parts. like your wiener.
me: oh. yeah, i guess that would hurt.

i heart feel good outfits

do you have that skinny outfit in your closet or drawer?

you know the one you put on and magically your bum doesn’t look so big? or makes you feel 5 pounds lighter?

i think there needs to be a designer out there for normal sized people that doesn’t involve sweatpants or swimsuits. don’t you agree?

i heart late sunsets

February 25, 2008 at 7:47 am | In my hearts | Leave a Comment

don’t you love it when the days feel longer? i do. like today.

i got off work early and i was able to suit up for an outdoor run. it has been so long since i have ran outside…like 2 weeks! and my legs felt like bricks today. my body was responding as if i hadn’t ran in a month. boo.

but i was glad to be outside. now i need to do a better job balancing my treadmill and outdoor running. i am sure these longer days will help.

I heart road trips

February 24, 2008 at 6:29 am | In my hearts | Leave a Comment

it is even better when i am not responsible to drive. thanks guys.

we are on the back end of our road trip now…it sure has been fun. good music, good snacks, and good company make a road trip fab even when it smells like cow business most of the trip.

i guess a cow’s got to do what a cow’s got to do.

i heart temple coffee

February 23, 2008 at 7:46 pm | In my hearts | 2 Comments

temple1.jpg

so we have been in costa mesa for a couple days now…and we have been discussing how we have taken our favorite place temple coffee for granted. maybe we have been away from so cal so long that we are not hip to the urban places around town…but then i think…well, it isn’t very urban here.

not to be a total hypocrite… i sometimes enjoy the mall. i drink starbucks. i heart a nonfat peppermint mocha like no-body’s business. i will admit it. but…in moderation.

but i do heart temple. i heart when i go there i want to sit and chat and take my time.

you know what i’m talking about?

i heart black olives

February 22, 2008 at 7:24 am | In my hearts | Leave a Comment

black olives are so good. i am a really picky eater. it’s hard to believe i know. but i do love me some black olives. my favorite thing…one on each finger…then eating them off slowly. yum. delish.

I heart orange county

February 21, 2008 at 5:29 pm | In my hearts | 4 Comments

i heard that its the only place in the US that refers its self by a county. i guess it has a right to…it is pretty sweet.

i am not really into the south OC business…i consider myself more like disneyland and the valley instead of the beach and anorexia.

tonight we are heading to the OC for the worship central conference at RockHarbor. also…we will be hitting up dland most of friday and saturday while the boys are on break from the conference.

hopefully a little r and r will help with my drugged pirate eye. (as i now like to refer to it.)

eyeball update #2 let’s call it: episcleritis

February 21, 2008 at 12:18 am | In uncategorized | 4 Comments

no blisters…good news. but here is what i do have:

Episcleritis is an inflammatory condition of the connective tissue between the conjunctiva and sclera known as the episclera. The eye’s red appearance makes it look similar to conjunctivitis, or pink eye, but there is no discharge or tearing. It usually has no apparent cause; however, it is sometimes associated with systemic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, lupus, and inflammatory bowel disease. Rosacea, herpes simplex, gout, tuberculosis, and other diseases are also occasionally underlying causes.

Women are typically affected by episcleritis more frequently than men. It characteristically occurs in people who are in their 30’s and 40’s and is often a recurrent problem. (taken from stlukeeye.com)

i figured i probably picked it up from the gout i contracted on all the pirate adventures i take in my spare time.

yo ho.
