this is not going to be another post about john mayer. HOWEVER…if you did see a show you should be posting blogs and uploading pictures. “it was awesome” doesn’t cut it. i know there are at least 5 of you. i missed it because i was too busy running up mountains in oregon.

do post.

anyway…today is the second day of my summer school class, “dino dig”. i am teaching 1st and 2nd grade (boys mostly) about dinosaurs, paleontology and fossils. dinos are just cool. so the class basically teaches itself.

after class today a mom (who i have never met) of one of the two girls in my class stops to chat. she proceeds to tell me how much her daughter loves dinosaurs and how they have been waiting all summer for this class. then she says, “my daughter had the best day of her life yesterday. so thank you so much for making her happy.”

wow.

if you are thinking about paying someone a complement do it. because receiving one is the best feeling ever.

so i think that i have ran enough to say that i am a pretty decent runner. except in the following:

1. humidity:: last summer in houston, i remember getting up before 7am to run when it was “cool”.
2. hills:: i ran in oregon this past weekend. hills…may i say mountains…are from the devil.
3. heat:: why i think it is a good idea to run at 4pm…i’ll never know.

run to 500 :: goal

well i did it! actually i did it earlier last week…but nonetheless. as of today, i have ran a total of 514.01 miles! i am trying to think of a new year’s resolution i have actually kept…and i think this may be the first.

i have decided to keep it going and try to run 1,000 miles in 2008. i want to finish by december 31st…but i will give myself to january 7, 2009 since that was the official start date this year.

i will hit the 1,000 miles logged into my nike+ account this year…so that is exciting!

i have had the great privilege to attend some fabulous concerts in my short life. i think the best concert i have ever been to was justin timberlake. hands down.

as i was driving in the car today i was thinking of who would i LOVE to see if given the opportunity. here are my top five in order. (you maybe shocked, disgusted or inspired to take me.)

run to 500 :: june edition

i have been working hard this month. i just realized that i should have signed up to work the afternoon shift so i can run in the mornings. but nonetheless…

i was really trying to hit 500 this month. i know i shouldn’t be too discouraged because it was my resolution for the entire year…but i’m ocd. you knew that. i do have to say that june was the biggest run month. that’s exciting.

results::

in june i ran 115.11 miles with an average pace of 8′08″ mph.

grand total: 494.79 miles.

5.21 miles away!
