with some help from my friends…
March 25, 2009 at 9:08 am | In nike+, running | Leave a Commentactually this guy isn’t my friend at all…but since he IS friends with john mayer…then i will call him friend too.
john and scotty take turns writing posts for john mayer’s blog…and i can appreciate all scotty has to say. recently he ran the pasadena marathon at an impressive 3:25 pace. he uses nike+ (fabulous) and recently posted his song list here. i love to read what other people are listening to when they run. i am ALWAYS up for suggestions.
check out the post for the full story.

new shoes and a race (in the works)
March 23, 2009 at 8:55 pm | In nike+, running | 1 Commenti read this the other day:

i am hoping to hear for them this week…hopefully good news!
today i went to fleet feet to buy some new running shoes and spend some gift cards. if you have never been to fleet feet…you need to! they talk to you about different shoes, measure your feet and watch you walk and run to see what shoes are best for you. i found out my feet “overpronate.”
Pronation is the inward (medial) roll of the foot and in particular the heel and arch which occurs naturally at the heel strike as a cushioning mechanism.
Overpronation is when the feet roll inward too much.
Supination, also known as underpronation, is the opposite to pronation where the feet don’t roll inward enough. Wearing the wrong type of shoe will lead to painful shins and joints, or even injury.

i also found out that my left foot is bigger than my right, and i have been wearing the wrong size running shoe. i have been wearing a 7.5 (which is what my foot measures at) and i need to be wearing an 8.5! i guess long workouts cause your feet to swell, so you need room to allow for that. who knew?
fleet feet, that’s who!
so i ended up with these beauties: (after wearing nikes for 2+ years!)

happy st. patrick’s day!

domino
March 6, 2009 at 2:59 pm | In ramble | 5 Commentsmy mother in law (or mom) gives the best gifts. she is ubber thoughtful and always spoiling us with something fabulous. she complements me for my good taste (see…it is true!) and is usually spot on with something i will like…or learn to like.
we received a card in the mail saying we were signed up for a years subscription for domino magazine. which is a pretty great little magazine. usually it is full of way over decorated living rooms, but there is always something in there i like. i have several months worth and i am finally getting the chance to look through them for ideas for the possibility of our new kitchen. new kitchen, you say? well…that is another story.

zooey deschanel was featured a couple of months ago. she is the singer in she and him and is marrying the amazing ben gibbard.
strong living and a hopeful chance…
March 4, 2009 at 4:11 pm | In nike+, running | 4 Commentsfirst, i want to thank everyone for making today the “busiest day” for my blog. i won’t embarrass myself with the small amount of blog viewers…but to all of you out there today who took the time to read my blog…thanks and come back!
second, i want to give another big type-out to allie for introducing me to the daily plate. if you are looking for something to track your calories, protein, carbs, WHATEVER, this is the place for you. it’s really easy…really effecient…and really awesome. i can’t wait to get home and download it for my iphone. that’s right…i phone dropped. don’t be a hater.
thirdly, i found out after reading the nike running blog, that today was the opening day for the random drawing for a spot in the nike run like a girl marathon and half marathon in san francisco, california. who knows how they even choose people…but i thought what the…you know. here are some details:
Every detail of the Nike Women’s Marathon has been planned with women in mind. Here are just a few of the highlights:
-Official finisher necklace designed by Tiffany & Co.
-100% recycled Nike Dri-FIT Finisher T-shirt in women’s sizes (unique to full and half participants)
-Three-day interactive Expotique in Union Square
-Breathtaking course starting in Union Square and ending along the Pacific Ocean
-Extraordinary on-course support and entertainment
-Post-race celebration at the finish line including free massages, food, music and more
-Registering as a group or an individual does not affect your chances of getting into the Nike Women’s Marathon
a tiffany and co necklace? i crap you not!

wish me luck on this one. it should be a beautiful run.

on to better topics…
March 4, 2009 at 11:57 am | In blogging | 3 Commentsmaybe when i become a mom some day i can sit at home and blog…not like that is slap to mom’s who blog…cause i think moms who are home and blog are cool. they write important stuff about the world and how interesting, creative and delicious they made their children’s lunches out of green beans, salt, left over turkey and a shovel, all while folding laundry, washing the dog, car, kid, 5 mile run, and balancing their checkbook. so moms are amazing…stay at home or working. now throw a blogging mom in there and whew…
how do blogging moms get so many people to read their blog? is it because they blog everyday? say something interesting? are they funny? talk about other mom stuff? i am a pretty funny person, i have occasional funny stories about the kids in my class…my wacky life and thoughts…so should it matter who reads it? i think things are important too…god, politics, the environment…but it’s not really me to be so serious…is that hindering my likability? should it matter? do you have a suggestion?
anyway…enough about me and my blogging insecurities. on to better topics…isn’t my blog design amazing!! i read this random blog (from a cool mom, of course) called make and takes. she always has cute ideas and suggestions…which is where i found out about sherbet bloom designs. she also is a mom who blogs and runs this amazing business…and look what she did for me! you need to check her out if you are looking for a new design. i HIGHLY recommend her.
so i have decided to pay a little respect to some moms who blog. you should check out their sites…and let me know if there is someone you think i need to add! especially if they are a runner!
